Siegmund vs Demmeler vsDCT
Three brands, the same Ø28mm system. We put the measurable specifications side by side, so you can make an informed decision based on facts and not on marketing.

* "X8.7" is an internal Siegmund designation without public specification of the DIN/EN steel grade. DCT always documents the exact steel norm (S355JR / S690QL). Other specifications are based on publicly available information (websites, datasheets) and own measurements. "Not published" means the manufacturer does not openly share this value. Price indication is relative for a comparable Ø28mm configuration. Demmeler lead time concerns production time; stock via dealers may be faster.
Why DCT
Same quality, smarter price
Up to 40% lower price
Same quality standard, no dealer network. The cost saving goes directly to the customer.
Up to 1 mm nitriding depth
Gas-nitriding for +90 hours at roughly 600°C builds a diffusion layer up to 1 mm deep. Deeper than standard plasma-nitriding typically achieves, and directly corrosion-resistant without coating.
Directly from stock
Ordered means shipped the same or next business day (when in stock). No waiting weeks for production or dealer allocation.
Full compatibility
DCT tables accept all Siegmund and Demmeler accessories, and vice versa. No vendor lock-in.
The bottom line
DCT, Siegmund and Demmeler use the same Ø28mm system. Tools are broadly interchangeable and surface hardness for all three falls in the same range (700 to 890 HV). The difference lies in the published nitriding depth (DCT documents up to 1 mm), transparency about the steel grade used, lead time (days vs. weeks) and price (up to 40% lower with DCT through direct sales without a dealer network).
DCT, Siegmund and Demmeler also offer 16mm systems alongside 28mm for lighter work. This comparison focuses on the most widely used 28mm professional system. Browse the DCT 16mm range.

Questions about the comparison
Yes. The Ø28mm grid is the industry standard. All Siegmund and Demmeler accessories (clamps, squares, stops) fit on DCT tables and vice versa. Note: DCT and Siegmund clamping bolts do not fit Demmeler tables due to a different bore hole depth. Your existing clamps, squares and stops remain fully usable.
DCT sells directly to the end customer, without a dealer network or distributors. No dealer margin, no middleman. The cost saving goes directly to the customer. Quality is equal or better on measurable specifications.
M700 is made of S355JR structural steel, gas-nitrided to 700 HV surface hardness. M800 uses S690QL high-strength steel, gas-nitrided to 800 HV. We always specify exactly which DIN/EN steel grade is used. The Siegmund 8.7 series uses "X8.7 tool steel" as an internal designation, without public specification of the exact steel norm. For heavy industrial use and high-precision applications, we recommend the M800.
Siegmund applies a black BAR oxidation coating after nitriding. DCT tables are gas-nitrided without coating. Hardness and corrosion resistance reside in the steel itself, through thermochemical diffusion up to 1 mm deep. The lighter colour is the result of deeper gas-nitriding, not less treatment.
